Nathan P. Carter
Nathan Carter is dedicated to helping victims of nursing home negligence and their families. Mr. Carter is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), a national attorneys’ group whose mission is to help individuals and families, who have been harmed by the negligence or misconduct of others, obtain justice in court, no matter how powerful their opponents. He is also a member of the Florida Justice Association (FJA). From 2000 to 2004 he served on its board of directors, and he currently serves on FJA’s Nursing Home Task Force and its Florida Lawyers Action Group Candidate Recruitment Task Force.
As part of his role with FJA, Mr. Carter frequently meets with and lobbies State Representatives and Senators on behalf of consumers and victims of corporate negligence. He has testified before the Florida Senate and House of Representatives on various legal issues, and was invited to Washington, D.C. where he met with United States House and Senate committee members about nursing home reform issues.

Melvin B. Wright
In 1999, The American Bar Association accredited National Board of Legal Specialization, National Board of Trial Advocacy board certified Melvin Wright in civil trial law. He is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell national law directory, the highest possible rating. In addition, he was selected as a “Super Lawyer,” “Legal Elite” and one of the “Top 100 Lawyers” by NTLA. Mr. Wright is a long time member of the American Association for Justice. As a part of this organization he has participated in the AAJ Nursing Home Litigation Group for many years. Also, he is a member of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, the National Trial Lawyers Association and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Mr. Wright has extensive experience with nursing home neglect and abuse litigation, and other type of institutional abuse. He has led a team of nursing home neglect and abuse attorneys. From 1997 to 2004 he lectured nationally at seminars on institutional neglect and abuse. Mr. Wright is a member of the Nursing Home Litigation Group of AAJ. From 2008-2009 he served as a Chairperson of the FJA Nursing Home Committee.
Mr. Wright co-authored an article entitled Born into a Diaper: Discovering and Prosecuting Sexual Assault in a Nursing Home, which was published in the April, 2004 edition of the American Journal of Nursing. The article was based on a case in which he represented a mentally impaired nursing home resident who was raped and impregnated by a nursing home employee. Mr. Wright obtained a $2,500,000 settlement on behalf of the victim and her child.
